east

Direction: East
Element: Fire
Concepts: passion, creativity, power, control

East is the land where the Sun is born, therefore it is the pure raw Fire energy for me. While many classify the South as Fire, I personally see the South as a more of a stable Fire energy (i.e. noon day sun), and I feel more comfortable having the element of Fire at it’s Birthplace then it’s apex. Since a birthplace often represents the energies of inspiration and divine creation, energies inherent to Fire itself.

Fire is the element of passion, creativity, and power (among other things). Therefore, for me, it’s symbol is a sword.

Fire on it’s own symbolizes pure raw energy and force. Without it controlled, channeled, directed, it can be a extremely dangerous and devastating force. A sword, among other tools, is a form of focused Fire energies.

The sword is a tool of creativity. It is seen as being able to create fields and sew crops. It is a tool of passion. Enabling one to protect those they love. It is a tool of power as it can help you control destructive forces to enable harmony. But like all things that create, it can easily be turned against you, and destroy you.

The flames on top and bottom of the sword show the balance necessary to control and wield the forces of fire and it’s power. That one must be in balance and harmony in order to properly wield this force, else be thrown deeply into the fires and consumed.
